View the BHA Midlands Hairdresser of the Year Collection

Here to inspire you, we have more must-see work from across the pond, this time in the form of the Midlands Hairdresser of the Year winning collection from the 2018 Hairdressers Journal British Hairdressing Awards. The group of images, by Nicola Smith, are shot in black and white to put full focus on the brilliant technical work in terms of the hair’s shape, cut, style and pure skill.

Elements of asymmetry, undercuts, razor art, various textures and multi-dimensional looks all contain unique, creative and Avant Garde elements, although their wearability factor also varies. The looks involve simple fashion, some bold accessories, tattoo art, glowing beauty and more, with an overall prime focus on the hair in the muted palette. Each look captures movement and dimension as it inspires in supreme editorial style.
